     RENTAL POLICIES
    Reservations:    We accept reservations
    by phone between 8 AM and 8 PM Hawaii
    time; or 24 hours a day by e-mail at
    lauriehanan@somewhereinparadise.biz.   
    A  booking deposit of $250 is due at time of
    booking. Full payment is due and must be
    received 31 days prior to your arrival. We
    do not send reminders.
    Cancellations:  Cancellations must be
    made at least 31 days before your check in
    date. If you cancel more than 31 days
    before your arrival, your deposit will be
    refunded to you, less a $25 processing fee.
    If cancellation is made less than 31 days
    before check in, no refund  will be made
    until the cancelled period is re-rented and
    confirmed. If the cancelled period cannot
    be re-rented, no money will be returned. If
    the cancelled period is re-rented,any rent
    monies paid will be refunded to you, less a
    $25 fee.
    Occupancy:    The occupancy limit of each
    property is clearly stated on your Welcome
    Letter regardless of the beds available.
    Children are counted in the occupancy.
    Misrepresentation may result in renters
    being asked to vacate the property without
    a refund.
    Payment Options:   U.S. credit cards,
    Paypal or cash accepted any time.
    Pets: Sorry, we love animals but no pets
    are allowed in any of our rental properties.
    Printing Errors: Somewhere In Paradise is
    not responsible for any printing errors.
    Refunds:    Simply stated, once you have
    entered into a contract to rent a property,
    you are binding yourself to that property for
    that time. There should be no exception of
    compensation or relocation because you
    don't like the property or something in the
    property isn't working to your satisfaction.  
    Unlike a hotel, we cannot relocate you. As
    previously stated, we will make every effort
    to correct any malfunctions or problems
    encountered, but no refunds should be
    expected.
    Family Groups Welcome:    We maintain
    a family atmosphere for the quiet
    enjoyment of our guests. We do not allow
    fraternities, sororities, or school groups
    under any circumstances. ABSOLUTELY
    NO HOUSE PARTIES ARE ALLOWED!!
    Should a group misrepresent themselves, it
    will be required to vacate the premises
    immediately without refund of rent.

    Letter regardless of the beds available.

    Office Hours:    Our office is open daily
    from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM.   Please
    contact us after hours for emergencies only.
    Parking:    Parking is arranged through the

Rental Policies

    Timeshare Rental Policies
    Timeshare rentals are generally in blocks of 3, 4 or 7 nights. While we will try to ensure that you will
    not have to change rooms during your stay, this is not 100% guaranteed for stays of more than 7
    nights.
    Check-In and out: You must be at least 21 years of age to check into a timeshare. You will be required to
    present a credit card and picture I.D. at the reception desk. A check in time of 4 PM and check out time of
    10 AM will be strictly enforced.
    Cleaning : There are no cleaning charges on timeshare rentals. You will not receive complimentary maid
    service. Maid service can be arranged through the front desk for a fee.
    Security deposit: There is no security deposit on a timeshare rental. Your $250 booking deposit will be
    applied to your rent.
    Parking: Valet parking is $25 per day. You may also park off site about 1.5 blocks away at the Hale Koa lot
    for $12 per day, with a 3 day minimum.
    Taxes:  The State of Hawaii charges a timeshare accommodation tax. You will pay this directly to the hotel
    as follows:
    1 Bedroom Suite : $3.27/night
    1 bedroom Deluxe :$3.96/night
    2 bedroom Deluxe :$5.11/night
    2 bedroom Presidential : $7.52/night
    3 bedroom Presidential : $9.35/night
    4 bedroom Presidential : $11.05/night

    Ala Moana Hotel. Aloha Surf and
    Bamboo Hotel and Spa :

    Check In and out:   Check-In time  
    and 3:00 PM. Upon arrival, please
    pick-up the keys to your room at the
    reception desk.  Check-Out time is 11
    AM for privately owned condos.
    Cleaning Charges:  A cleaning
    charge of $75 - $79 for studios and
    $100 for one bedroom  is charged on
    all rentals.
    Security Deposits:   Your
    reservation fee of $250 will become
    your damage deposit.  The purpose
    of this deposit is to allow the owner to
    recover some of the expenses
    incurred from obvious or malicious
    neglect or from additional cleaning
    required due to the tenant leaving the
    unit in abnormally dirty condition. The
    unit will be inspected after your check-
    out, and the deposit remitted by
    check within 21 days from date of
    departure.    
    Damage:   All breakage and rental
    damage during your occupancy must
    be reported to this office. Tenants are
    responsible for and are expected to
    assume liability for any damage to the
    rental and its contents, during their
    occupancy. Units with security
    deposits will be inspected carefully
    after your departure, and your
    deposit will be adjusted if any damage
    is found.
    Items Left At Rentals:   We will not
    be responsible for personal items left
    in the unit. A $15.00 service charge
    and COD costs are required if you
    request us to pick up and mail items
    left in the unit. Any items found in
    units that are not claimed within 30
    days will be donated to charity.
    Maid Service:  There will be no
    complimentary scheduled cleaning
    during your stay. At the Ala Moana
    Hotel daily maid service can be
    arranged through the hotel for $40
    per day, and must be for every day of
    your stay. Intermittent cleanings and
    linen changes can be arranged
    through our office for $75 to $120 per
    cleaning depending on suite size.
    Maintenance:   All equipment in
    each rental should be in working
    order. Please report any inoperative
    equipment to our office promptly! We
    will make every reasonable effort to
    have the problem corrected. Under no
    circumstances will there be a
    reduction of rent for any mechanical
    failure of air conditioning, dishwasher,
    washer, dryer, appliances, TV, VCR,
    or other equipment.
    Taxes:   Hawaii State lodging tax is
    calculated on the basis of the gross
    amount of rent. These taxes are due
    with the balance or your rent, at a tax
    rate of 11.962%.
